I make recommendations far less often than I ought to do.

It were impossible, however, that I should fail to advert you to azdak’s utterly brilliant Wimseyfic, here:

It is almost perfect.  (There are perhaps two dubious notes and one possible anachronism.)  My only real criticisms of it are, firstly, that some chapters are in type that is rather too small for those of us over forty-five to read comfortably, and, secondly, that I didn’t have the honour of writing it, not that I’d have done half so well had I tried.

You simply cannot miss this.  It is superb.

Ahem, a quick note before I click the link:

On firefox if you hold down the ctrl button and toggle the scroller in the middle of your mouse the font size changes.

Just in case it helps.

Can't hurt.

Will try.

Quick! Tell me what the dubious notes and the possible anachronisms are and I will fix them (if I can)!

And thank you exceedingly for the rec. I'm blushing at the computer screen with happiness and embarrassment.

Er.

I'm not altogether certain that 'friend of Dorothy' was yet in common parlance in the UK by the mid-1950s, although I cd well be wrong. Kenneth Williams wd have known, alas, but we cannot ask him.

I honestly cannot recall now, so greatly was I absorbed in, with, and by the tale, what niggles I had (and ought, therefore, not to have mentioned them). If they come to me, I'll email you, but you really don't want to lose sleep over it.

Re: Er.

Oo-er! It's such a lovely expression, though, that I think that until Kenneth puts through a celestial call saying otherwise, I shall shut my eyes and hope thatit's okay.

Naturally.

And of course it's quite all right: it's yr (brill) fic, and even if it were my place to correct it, there's nothing to correct, uncertain as I am of the issue.
