Thank you, dear boy.

A very Happy Christmas to you.

And to you too, sir, from all 3.99 of us. :)

And to you all.

Fatherhood suits you, my dear Doctor.

Flimsy little bats they used back then....

Yes...

... and very large bearded Gloucestershire GPs to wield 'em.

Happy Christmas to you and yours.

I was already smiling, as per your most recently read post, but this made me laugh immoderately!

Grace conquers all.

And, truly, DID anyone ever see the Doctor and Fr Christmas in the same place at the same time?

QED.

Re: Grace conquers all.

Ah, those were the days ... when the stocking would contain a willow bat and a three-course breakfast with wines ... Of course, he'd take your coin jar along with the Scotch and mince pies left out for him.

Yes, and you'd damned well be grateful.

Particularly for the pass to Lord's he left in return, with his compliments.

Re: Yes, and you'd damned well be grateful.

I would, you know.

Yesterday's food shopping was designed particularly to lay in stocks for the Boxing Day Test, where I am sure the natural order of things will be restored.

Bloody well better be.

I mean, that buggeration in Perth? Simply not on. Never saw cricketers that nakedly exposed since Jimmy did the photo-shoot for Attitude, damn it all.

Oor Jimmy

Re: Bloody well better be.

I am torn between suggesting it was their Christmas gift to the Australians and, my actual belief, the only way for the single lads on the team to pick up a nice local girl (because it's not un-Australian if you're doing it to cheer them up after a loss).

Oh, that makes perfect sense.

Er. Yes. Right.

Whatever it was, let's not have it again, hmm?

Re: Oh, that makes perfect sense.

I'm sure the mood has passed. Now go to bed or Father Christmas won't have a chance to get at your stocking!

That's an awful pun.

Pity I can't get that put on a T shirt in time to go to the Boxing Day test with my brother this week...

(as an MCG member, he probably wouldn't want to be seen with me wearing it, however)

I do try.

You could perhaps print Jimmy on the shirt?

Re: I do try.

This is somehow all reminding me of a poster my grandfather used to have, illustrating cricket terms in the most literal manner possible (I think silly mid point was my favourite, but then, I was five).
