With Gervert's* kind permission - Wemyss's Appalling Hobby:
From the Party Guilty of Committing 'Gate of Ivory, Gate of Horn'

(* before y'all get bent all out of shape, it's a Kinky Friedman joke. Best stay out of Kerrville if it passes you by.)

Ol' GW is apparently off to Birmingham (don't look at me like a tree full of owls, all I get from that is a Randy Newman earworm) to watch a primitive form of baseball and then on to shoot birds on Friday.

It's a hundred in the shade down here, the Astros are playing a primitive form of baseball, and it's illegal to shoot the equally underperforming Orioles. So while Pard is away, I figured, hell, it's August 12 over there already, let's publish.

Anybody wants to buy a book, it's here. Kindle version'll be up in a day or two, they say. (Ask me, 'kindle' ain't a polite word in this damn drouth and heat. Hotter'n a goat eating jalapenos, this summer.)

- MSP, sitting in for the Hifalutin' One.

Morning, ma'am.

Everybody switches codes: jury argument versus a brief. I'll try and not downhome it too bad.

LMAO
You made me want to buy the book! My dad was drafted in 1940 so that adds to my interest. I love WW2 era.
There are people who talk like that where I live. :)

I have been known to country-boy it when it seems advantageous.

I hope you do like the book.

They really aren't.

It's times like this when you remember that this iteration of the franchise used to be the hapless St. Louis Browns.
