Battle of Britain Day, 72 years on...

...and around the Western world, the forces of reason are in retreat, the impulse to kowtow to our enemies in the hope they will leave us alone is in full flower, and the most disgusting sort of moral relativism and blinkered media adulation in favour of incompetent and discredited leaders appears to be hurling us towards a precipice.

I only hope we can put the brakes on in time. Where are our Churchills and Roosevelts now? And how long before we once more have to throw it all on the shoulders of a brave Few?

Shan't be long I fear. There is a foul wind blowing even now. Will they never learn?

No, they won't.

At least this time, the disparity between the military strength of the Free World and its opponents should be enough to make the war a swift and decisive one - provided the gloves come off in time.

Given the disparity between Afghanistan (to name just one undeveloped country) and both ‘the Free World’ and the USSR I wouldn’t get your hopes up. It also begs the question of what or who ‘the Free World’ is.

Our leaders are only unreasonable, incompetent, kowtowers filled with the ‘most disgusting sort of moral relativism’(you have such a way with words Wemyss) who either cannot see or do not care that they are hurling us towards the precipice(s) because the British public are unreasonable, incompetent, kowtowers filled with the ‘most disgusting sort of moral relativism’ who ether cannot see or do not care that they are hurling themselves and everyone else towards the precipice(s). The truth is that ‘the forces of reason’ have never really been in the majority but have often (but but no means usually) been able to grab the reins of power either before we go over the precipice or just after so that they can do reasonable job of damage control.

Churchills and Roosevelts were not all that great, it was more a case of cometh the hour, cometh the man. We can only hope that this time will be one of those times when someone does rise to it and not one of those times when no one does.

Not I.

The way with words is Pathology Doc's. I merely reposted (as opposed to riposted, as I agree).
