Rather to my surprise, it is apparently the done thing…

… although it seems a trifle infra-dig, if not non-U, to me, to advise tout le monde* that, firstly, the voting is open at the HP Fanfiction Poll’s current round (which seems unexceptionable), and, secondly, to declare one’s interest if one has been selected to stand in one’s constituency (which seems rather importunate). As it happens, ‘And It Could Be Me, And It Could Be Thee’has kindly been nominated in the categories of Best Drama [/Angst‡] (Long Fiction§) and of Best Character (Heroine) w/r/t Griselda Marchbanks. However, there are many good works by respectable authors nominated as well, so if you at all care to vote, do so. You may follow the following link.

* A townland in Meath, Englished as Toullamond. Or perhaps not.

† The fic that introduced me to many new and innocent fans, one or two of whom, I believe, have since been wandering about in a daze, trying desperately to reconcile its strong women and feminist characters with its Thatcherite authorship. The rest remember Dorothy L Sayers’ political and religious opinions and Are Not In the Least Surprised by this.

‡ Which it certainly is not.

§ Bezique having come in at some 120000 words, whilst ‘And It Could Be Me’ is but 10000 and a bit, exclusive of three footnotes, or one-twelfth the length of the former, this seems touchingly naïve as to just how long a fic I am capable of committing.

Oooooh! Thanks for the links. I don't get out much, and wouldn't have seen these until they hit AO3.
