Two points of heraldic interest.
I have mentioned, I believe, that British Muggle wars and rebellions are mere reflections of Wizarding struggles?  A comparison of the Ministry arms and those of Cromwell's commonwealth might be instructive.

Also, for those interested in Wizarding civic heraldry, herewith the Arms of the Wizarding City of London.

As you probably know, I am in total agreement about the interaction of wizarding and Muggle history (pharnabazus and I have been having a lot of fun, particularly with early centuries)

Indeed, yes.

Wh reminds me - why not join the newly redirected potterpast? Current topics are Spring-Heeled Jack (an example of Victorian Muggle-baiting?), the Ripper, and Wizarding parricide amongst DEs. Coming soon: Nomenclature, Zacharias Smith, and Great-Aunt Hephzibah: Chapel, or Romnichal? All are welcome.
