And now, the Announcement.
I am pleased to announce the publication of a new novel, Cross and Poppy, the first in the Village Tales series. It is available as an Amazon Kindle edition, and is being in trade paper (and is already thus available directly, here). It is also available as an e-book at Smashwords; and in the coming days, it is to propagate to Apple, Diesel, Kobo, Oyster, B&N, and all the rest: when this shall have been accomplished, I shall say so.

This, I may add, is my explanation, and I hope my excuse, for my dilatory participation in fandom of late.

I’d very much like to hear from those who read it (and of course reviews are always obliging things); I hope it may give some of the pleasure to you all that writing it has given me.

(I need of course hardly say that I am intensely relaxed at the prospect of anyone’s choosing to write derivative / transformative / fan works from this series.)

That sounds remarkably fun. I may be acquiring a Kindle shortly...

Many congratulations. I don't have a Kindle myself, but I Christmas is coming, and some of my nearest and dearest would probably enjoy this.

Congratulations! I haven't looked at the details yet, but I can hardly contain my excitement. *throws confetti at you*

How did you get published? I would like to be as well, eventually, so I'm always looking for advice.

I can answer that for Gerv.

We have an imprint. Bapton Books. If you'd like to know more, you can drop either of us a line.

Re: I can answer that for Gerv.

It's your imprint? Is that self-publishing, then?

In a sense.

When it's one of us, yes. When we get a certain Italian historian's MS in, no. When Mike N gets me his US Grant bio for the Bapton's Brief Lives series for which I'm the commissioning editor, no. And so on.
