A Snippet from Ch 3 - Wemyss's Appalling Hobby:
From the Party Guilty of Committing 'Gate of Ivory, Gate of Horn'
A Snippet from Ch 3

The post-War Wizarding World had seen off its share of threats: nothing so dramatic as a new Dark Lord, but mundane concerns such as budget crises, incredibly annoying foreign governments (the French, of course, well to the fore in that), and the horrific possibility that Horace Slughorn might contemplate standing for Minister, which Draco cleverly scotched by finding the pompous old parasite a sinecure that he in fact performed splendidly in and that suited him down to the ground, a billet as Logres Principal King of Arms, the chief herald of British and Irish Wizard-dom.

After, the Victors had settled down to enjoy the fruits of peace, secure in the certainty that nothing alarming would happen again for many a long year.  The years stretched before them in prospect, as smooth and seductive as Ogden’s best single-malt firewhisky (‘Smoky and complex, long in the finish, with notes of brandy-mint, bergamot, cinnamon, and Keillor’s Ginger Preserve’ – The Arbiter, Wine & Food Section, 12 June 2007).

To which the Fates replied, scoffing, ‘Not ’arf.’

I have to say I like the sound of the single-malt!

I like Slughorn, but the thought of him getting near office is too terrifying for words.

Isn't it though.

But Sluggers is like Prezza in this: he'l ltake perks and pomps over power and concomitant responsibility any day.

Another dram of the firewhisky, darling?

Re: Isn't it though.

Yes, please: it's been a somewhat trying evening in RL.

Slainté. Or whatever one says to firewhisky.
