May you and all you hold dear stay safe.
It's hard to know what's happening from this side of the pond. I do hope that your more kindly & orderly society will be spared the violence that has so often plagued us, here in the States. I recall too well the riots after Martin Luther King was murdered. My father & our minister were among the first into Chicago's southside -- we didn't live far away -- with a stationwagon filled with milk, bread, etc. Your riots, we pray, will not get to that point. Then violence has been more a part of our culture, at least around mid-century. I recall tear gas, firehoses and police dogs attacking protesters, including women, in Birmingham, AL, a few years earlier, along with a long stream of Ku Klux Klan violence. And then afterwards the violence of the Black Panthers and the radical left.
Again, with no sense of what's happening to you, I've noticed here that violence, both within families and within societies, tends to breed more violence, wherever it purportedly "starts". Sadly & too often, the rabble on the other side -- and at least in the States, no side here seems to lack for ready rabble -- will too often pick it up. May your proud nation be spared that. I lack deep knowledge of your traditions, but they seem much less violent than ours; may they be good, may they be honored, and may they keep you & your dear people safe from harm and the threat of harm.
As your other commentor noted, looting is just lowlife opportunism.
Jane continues well & improving, and sends her regards.
