Eureka. - Wemyss's Appalling Hobby:
From the Party Guilty of Committing 'Gate of Ivory, Gate of Horn'
I have a solution.

The Home Office - or, of course, its illegal immigrant cleaning crew of the past five years - have falsely labelled some 1,500 people as criminals, due to the incompetence of the CRB.

The Home Office - or, of course, its illegal immigrant cleaning crew of the past five years - have lost some 1,500 passports in the post over the past two years alone (I suppose they've been too busy offering asylum for sex?).

Well, it's obvious, isn't it.  Give these innocent people a fresh start by assigning them the identities of the missing passport holders.

Don't laugh, Noolabour have had nuttier ideas than that.

Oh, well, with the Army on the verge of mutiny and over half the country wanting Tony Blair personally to be banged up in Brixton nick over the sale of honours, the country won't last long enough for his to become an issue, will it.  Simon Jenkins was rabbiting on in the Sunday Times on his sole topic again, Iraq-is-a-failed-state-partition-it-and-bolt: at this point, the UK is already partitioned and more of a failed state than Iraq is.

I hear the US is nice at this time of year....

but wait!

that only works if they lost the passport holders in the post, and have a stack of passports, somewhere....

although that sounds possible.

With this lot, it sounds PROBABLE.

Amazing, isn't it.

And you just know that if it were to be proposed, Tessa and Hazel would find a way to defend it.

land of hope

Oh, illegal immigrant cleaners at the Home Office is fab. (Poor blighters, though.) It shows how not in control Government still is and how real life has so little to do with the official version. It's what Britain is all about. Here's to more state failure, rah! The future for ID cards looks laughable - if the passport service can't be trusted not to lose or steal passports can they or any service be trusted with administering seriously scary ID cards? Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh; at least they seem know how many passports they've lost.

But sale of honours, that's new?

Prisoners abscond from Glocs to avoid final weigh-in; John Prescott hopes to avoid ministerial equivalent.

Have a wee story; written by leni_jess, it's about chocolate frogs... :-)
